These terms and conditions apply to users of My Work Local.
Client Membership
Members with the Client Membership have all the site access as a public, non-member, but also have access to posting job listings. All job listings are viewable only on the search page and with limited information, in order to keep client members personal information private. Job listings can only be viewed by members with a Freelancer or Business membership, and have access to contact the owner by form, by information posted in the listing, or by information posted in Client profile. Email address, phone number, and street address are visible on the Client profile. The email address is required since we use that in order to send you notification about your account, and messages from members interested in your listings. If a Client does not want their phone number or street address seen by members with a Business or Freelancer membership, this information can be left blank. For their location, a client can simply use the city and state instead of the entire street address.
All listings posted by members are posted with that member’s consent. Postings should be accurate and correct. Fraudulent or scam postings will be removed and that users account will be canceled.
Freelancer Membership
Members with the Freelancer Membership have full site access except they cannot post in the Business directory. That directory is limited to listings only by Business members.
Freelancers may post in the Freelancer directory. Each listing should be for each city and categories that freelancer does work in. If a freelancer does work in multiple categories, multiple categories can be used per listing, but only one location. So, if a freelancer works in four categories, and is willing to work in three cities, the freelancer would post a listing for each city, each add having multiple categories.
Freelancers can post in the Job Listings directory. This allows a freelancer to hire other members to work for them, or post jobs for things they personally need done.
The classifieds directory was intended for freelancers and businesses to be able to post classified ads. This is intended to keep scam postings off our site. A freelancer can post anything they want to sell and is an ideal place for them to post things that are leftover from jobs they’ve done. This will allow them to connect with the public, but also other local freelancers that may have a need for their excess items.
The How To section is intended for freelancers and businesses to post informational tips that the public can view. This is intended to help public viewers find information on how to do simple things themselves, instead of having to hire someone for an easy job. This is a good way to bring attention to yourself, which brings opportunity for larger jobs.
The forms on My Work Local are for freelancer and business members. These forms are intended to make planning jobs, keeping track of time and materials, and invoicing clients easier. Forms are easiest to fill out on a computer, then emailed or printed. But, they can also be filled out on a mobile device. There are some instructions for this on the forms page. My Work Local does not imply that these are legal documents, and they should be used at your own discretion. The forms are simply in place for your convenience.
For the Freelancer, using the phone number and address fields will make it easier for someone to contact you, but these can be left blank. For the address, we recommend using your city and state only. That gives the potential employer an idea of where you’re located, but not your exact address. Public viewers and members will be able to view your profile.

If a business does work in multiple categories, multiple categories can be used per listing, but only one location. Each physical business location can be listed with it’s own information, pictures, hours open, etc.
