Front rotor replacement on a 2017 Lexus RX350

Description

Tools needed:  14mm socket, 19mm socket, tire iron, floor jack, jack stand, clamp, two bolts - 5/16-18 (to pull rotor from hub).

  1. Loosen lug nuts on wheel you're working on.
  2. Jack up the car and lower onto jack stand.
  3. Remove wheel.
  4. Remove brake caliper.
  5. Remove brake caliper bracket.
  6. Remove rotor:
    1. If rotor will not come off easily, which is common, use bolts (size 5/16-18) in threaded holes in rotor to break the rotor free from the hub.
  7. Install new rotor.
  8. Install brake caliper bracket.
  9. Install new brake pads, if needed.
  10. Compress brake caliper with appropriate clamp.
  11. Install brake caliper.
  12. Install wheel.
  13. Remove jack stand and lower vehicle.
  14. Repeat for the other side.
